The Kachin Baptist Church, KBC, convened a two-week seminar in Myitkyina, northern Burma, on March 24th for trainers from Kachin Christian community to develop their training capacity.

The seminar was sponsored by the Rangoon-based American Center, which sent American teacher to the seminar. The KBC’s Leadership Training Committee is administering the seminar, which runs from March 24 to April 9.

Rev Sabaw Sinwa Naw, chairman of the KBC’s Leadership Training Committee, said that “this program aims to raise good leaders.” He added that conducting the training in Burma is convenient as it is more financially feasible than sending students abroad.

The sixteen seminar participants come from the KBC, the Nawng Nan and Kuthkai branches of Kachin Theology College, the University Christian Fellowship, the Young Men’s Christian Association, and other churches in Myitkyina.

The KBC’s Leadership Training Committee hopes to provide skills for the students to prepare them for future study abroad. The KBC’s Leadership Training Committee is a subcommittee of KBC.
