April 23 — Christian Students from University of Myitkyina celebrate Earth Day on Friday, planting trees near the University campus. The ceremony was organized by Student Christian Movement.

April 18 — A Kachin tycoon Bawmwang La Raw, founder of Kachin National Organization, said that he has no intention to be a Kachin leader, but just working for Kachin people and nation. He was accused of masterminding the coup attempt in Kachin Independence organization’s headquarters in early of January 2004.

April 15 — Rev. N’hkum Doi La, who was detained at Kachin Independence Organization headquarter, has not been charged with any penalty yet because of being a pastor from Kachin Baptist Convention. Doi La was accused of involving the January 2004 coup attempt in KIO headquarters and arrested on January 15.
